I recently purchased a book that goes by the name of; Fantasy Art: Warriors & Heroes, Inspiration, Impacts & Technique. Full of absolutely wonderful artwork among it's pages but there's one piece at the start that caught my eye, abit of foreword by Ken Kelly.
"Fantasy art is freedom. Pure and simple. In its realm there are no rules, no laws; as an artist, you have full reign to imagine an entire universe, where you can mix worlds and concepts: mammal and reptilian, planets and solar systems, man and beast. You can create anything you want. It's not called 'fantasy' for nothing."

Thanks. Now that I look at it again. It reminds me of the art style of Yoshitaka Amano. The artist for Final Fantasy back in days of yore.
